Operation Supply Drop Partners With UMG Gaming For Nashville eSports Event

Operation Supply Drop, a leading military charity that supports active duty troops and veterans with video game filled care packages to “make fun where there is none,” today announced its partnership with UMG Gaming, a veteran-owned provider of LAN events, eSports infrastructure and hosted competitive gaming tournaments. The partnership will kick off at UMG Nashville, an eSports event to be held on October 10-12 in the Nashville Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

“A huge portion of active duty troops and current generation veterans participate in or watch eSports,” said Glenn “Commander” Banton, Executive Director of Operation Supply Drop. “This partnership perfectly highlights our evolving charter perfectly: not only does UMG provide entertainment and stress relief, but showcases what is possible when veterans pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions and passions to create a successful new business.”

“As a veteran, I recognize and appreciate the value of an organization like Operation Supply Drop and we are proud to have them on board beginning with our Nashville event,” added UMG Gaming CEO and Founder, Robert Terkla. “Whether we provide stress relief to deployed troops or recovering wounded veterans, offer a way for others to earn a living in eSports or simply inspire veterans to start their own successful companies doing something they love, we are thrilled to be able to give back to the military community.”

Launched in 2012 and already an eSports community favorite, UMG Gaming's latest LAN event will see teams compete in Call of Duty: Ghosts for cash prizes up to $25,000. Operation Supply Drop and UMG Gaming will also partner to offer a raffle for numerous prizes. Tickets can be purchased for $5 each at the event in Nashville or online, until 1200 CST, Monday October 13th, by visiting http://bit.ly/OSDNashville. Raffle prizes include products from Elgato, SquidGrip, UMG, Scuf Gaming, Honey Badger, HeroCrate, GameOn Snacks, NVIDIA and GAEMS.

UMG Nashville will take place from October 10-12 at the Nashville Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, in Nashville, TN. Single and multi-day spectator passes as well as team passes for competitors are available at http://www.events.umggaming.com.
