Android Users Can Now "Explore" Shazam Charts around the World

Shazam, the world’s leading media engagement company, today announced that the interactive “Explore” map feature has been added to the Android App. Now, users can zoom in to anyplace in the world to discover, buy and share the most popular music people are listening to in that location – starting at the continent level, then drilling down into the country, region, city and even to the town level, in some cases.

Available in the app for both Android phones and tablets, the Explore feature gives music lovers a new way to discover music. When you click on the Shazam Chart for any location, you can see the top twenty tracks, listen to previews or buy the songs.

Additionally, this update to the Shazam Android App gives music fans more options to buy their favourite tracks. Now, in addition to buying on Amazon, they can also buy on Google Play whenever they Shazam a song on their Android device. When users download the app or update to the new version, they will see a drop-down menu to select their favourite retailer to buy the single or album.

This is the most recent update for the Android version of the Shazam App. A new tablet-optimised version of the app was launched in August. Additionally, Shazam also updated the app for an improved newsfeed feature to inform users of great opportunities to use Shazam.

For people who don't yet have the Shazam App on their smartphone or tablet, it is available for free on every major platform, and the Shazam Android App can be found on Google Play and the Amazon App Store.
