Sandberg releases the PowerPal 5000, a new portable battery

Sandberg now launches a new portable battery, or 'Powerbank' as we call it - that has a great many functions assembled into one product. It has been given the name PowerPal 5000.

At the outset this appears to be a simple portable battery, which we have come to know in all shapes and sizes. It's a nifty device you can charge up at home, and should the mobile telephone, digital camera, tablet computer or music player suddenly start to run out of power while you're on the move, you can charge up your device using the portable battery.

One side of the PowerPal is lined with solar cells, so you can charge it up using sunlight instead of powering it from the plug socket. 8 hours in full sunlight charges the battery up from 0-30%.

On the other side there is a metal hook that can be used both to hang the PowerPal up with and as a stand, so that the PowerPal can be stood upright on a table, for example when it's being charged using sunlight.

There is also a powerful 4 LED flashlight built into the device.

Erling Hoff Petersen, Sales Director at Sandberg A/S, explains: "There is a point to gadgets like these. PowerPal has been designed as a multi-purpose tool you can take along with you, regardless of whether you're out camping in the wilderness, at a music festival or work on a building site. It allows you not just extra power to your mobile telephone but also a practical torch that can be used when needed: hang it up in the tent or light up a dark nook. The fact that you can charge extra power to your PowerPal simply by leaving it out in the sun is just one more advantage."

The PowerPal 5000 is available for 52.99 €.
