Arctic Home Charger 4500 Review

In this day and age, technology surrounds us from every angle, tablets, smartphones, iPads and many other devices fill our rooms and entertain us to a point where they have become an integral part of our lives.
Unfortunately with so many features, applications and technology crammed into such tiny gadgets, their battery life is not always great, even if the battery life is above average you always want them to recharge faster and hopefully more efficiently.
With the aforementioned ideas in mind, today we have for review a very simple product, the Arctic Home Charger 4500. A piece of equipment that will probably change your life, even if just a tiny bit.

The Home Charger 4500 comes packaged in a small white and blue box, while it's nothing too fancy, it does list a few of the main features and technical specifications of the product while also displaying a couple of important pictures in order for you, the consumer, to understand the possibilities available when using the charger.
Once you open the box you will find tucked inside only a couple of items, the charger itself wrapped in plastic and a small user manual, like I mentioned previously, the Home Charger 4500 is a really simple product.

In terms of visual design there's little to talk about in regards to the Home Charger 4500, it's mostly black (piano black, fingerprint magnet) with a few details in white and orange, simple but elegant nonetheless. For such a small device, it does feel like it's well built, our particular review unit has been used on a daily basis for the last couple of months and it still looks like it is brand new.
Four usb slots rest at the top of the Home Charger and are well identified in order for you to properly differentiate between them, orange for tablets and iPads, black for smartphones. Aside from that, there's also a few LED's used to indicate which ports are currently being used at the moment.

Besides the function of recharging your batteries quicker, the Home Charger 4500 also has a few extra features that will certainly come in handy.
For starters, Arctic claims that it is 86% more energy efficient, this not only means a smaller energy bill at the end of the month but also that your charger does not heat up as much. During testing I found the charger to remain mostly at room temperature at all times, so good job there Arctic.
Another important little extra is the thermal, short-circuit, over-currents and over-voltage protection, this will help you out not only at home but also when traveling, since it will shield your devices against defective, unreliable energy sockets or just plain bad weather.

Final Thoughts
Arctic certainly did a fine job with the Home Charger 4500, besides being extremely useful, it also looks good and is affordable (around 20€ at the time of this review).
The difference that such a small device can make in a household is really astonishing, for starters it frees up a ton of space, since it basically condenses four chargers into one. Secondly, the time it takes for devices to (re)charge is reduced by a lot. Finally, it will protect your super expensive devices against severe cases of bad luck.

The Good
+Well built
+Elegant
+Efficient
+Protects your devices

The Bad
-Fingerprint magnet

Thanks to Arctic for providing the review sample
