Zia's Corner, Ep. 13 - Thunder Spirits, The Grubby Dark Blue

Simply sharing videogame music, just listen...and enjoy.

Shoot'em ups or Shmups as they are usually referred are hardly the most popular kid on the block, though the community that plays these hair pulling titles is a very tight and dedicated one - knowing almost everything there is to know about them - the truth is that the big majority of these little gems continue to slip under the radar of most gamers.
Thunder Spirits made its debut on the Super Nintendo and was a very close match to Thunder Force III, a game that had come out a few years earlier in the Genesis/Mega Drive, this Thunder Spirits was a weird port as it changed some features of the original title, most noticeably the ability to choose your own path. Yet, if you were a Nintendo owner back then, this was your only chance to play a game from this series.
Another big change, even if it is a forced one due to hardware, it's the soundtrack, where the Genesis had a clearly more aggressive soundtrack, this Snes version sounds a lot more smooth, that's why today it's featured on Zia's Corner.
