Func F-Series 10 Review

In the last ten years or so we've seen a ton of mouse pads hit the gaming market claiming to be the next best thing, showing off this or that feature and promising a quick and easy improvement of your gaming performance. According to Func, the company that today brings us the F-Series 10 gaming mouse pad, most of this so called "evolutions" are superfluous and unnecessary, what really matters are the core functions and not the fancy extra features.
While PC gaming newcomers might not know Func, they were in fact one of the pioneers when it comes to professional gaming peripherals. Today we will see if their comeback will revolutionize gaming as it did back in 1999.

Taking a quick look at the F-Series 10 package we were surprised by how high-quality it actually is, white and extremely minimalist Func certainly starts off strong. If I had to compare the F-Series 10 package to something I would say that it resembles a very elegant hard-cover book.
Inside the only thing that you will find  is the mouse pad itself and a few lines of text from Func, an interesting read that certainly shows how determined Func is to take back the peripheral gaming market.

Looking at the one-sided mouse pad itself, you quickly realize that it continues with Func's idea that functionality triumphs over flashy designs, the only feature that stands out from the black and smooth surface is the small and orange Func logo. This simplicity gives the F-Series 10 a very elegant look and feel that we rarely see in gaming surfaces.

Visual design is important and all but what really matters at the end of the day is performance, thankfully Func does not disappoint in this department. The F-Series 10 has an incredibly smooth and precise surface that allows the player to turn and aim quickly and efficiently. Thanks to its semi-rigid surface it is also very durable and will last player a while longer than most cloth mouse pads. The rubberized back works extremely well in preventing the mouse pad from sliding around, I personally tested it in a few different surfaces and it worked like a charm on all of them.
Preferences aside, the only real downside of having a rigid or semi-rigid mouse pad as opposed to a cloth one is comfort, the F-Series is definitely not as comfortable as some cloth mouse pads I've tested before, but then again it's aimed towards serious gamers that are only concerned about performance.

Final Thoughts
Because of the fact that I was a big fan of Func back in the day, my initial expectations for the F-Series 10 gaming mouse pad were extremely high. I am glad to say that Func did not disappoint me, they appear to have kept their quality standards elevated.
While the F-Series 10 is probably not gonna have the same impact on the professional gaming industry as the original Surface 1030 had, it certainly has gained its place amongst the best.

The Good
+Smooth Surface
+Elegant
+Durable

The Bad
