Star Wars Classics Take Over GOG.com in January

After teaming up with Disney Interactive and Lucasfilm last fall for the well-received release of six Lucasfilm titles, GOG.com is ready to release more classic Star Wars titles for fans and gamers to play once again. Starting January 20, GOG.com will release 12 more titles from the "galaxy far, far away…." for the following ten days.

Today's releases, which complete the much loved Star Wars: X-Wing series on GOG.com, are:

GOG.com Adds DRM-Free Movies, Site Redesign and More

GOG.com, the digital platform for PC games that has delivered DRM-free content to gamers worldwide for almost 6 years, is adding movies to its catalog. With over 200 partners in the gaming industry--including major publishers like Ubisoft, Square Enix and EA, as well as indie darlings like Klei Entertainment, Almost Human, and Wadjet Eye Games--and a dedicated community, GOG.com is the perfect case study of how effective going DRM-free is. And now GOG.com is on a mission to convince the big Hollywood studios to offer their TV and cinema classics 100% DRM-free. GOG.com Now Supports Linux with DRM-Free Games

GOG.com has put in some serious work. As promised in their announcement earlier this year, the team has just leveled up on its quest to bring all gamers together: welcome, Linux community! It's still summer, and over 50 of the 100 games GOG.com promised for Autumn are already here! Additionally, 23 of those titles are officially Linux-compatible for the first time ever thanks to GOG-made custom builds and the hard work of its cracking team of testers. GOG.com will provide support for the two most popular Linux distributions: Ubuntu and Mint with DEB installers, but other Linux gamers will also be able to download distro-independent archives so they can easily run our games too.

There is something for everyone in the launch lineup--from classic DOSBox titles like Rise of the Triad: Dark War or Bloodnet, to recent and new indie releases like Kentucky Route Zero, CLARC and Gods Will Be Watching.
