One of the best racing games on the original Playstation, Ridge Racer allows players to drift like maniacs without much effort, for someone who never played the game before and watches some gameplay it may seem weird, but it certainly is one of the most intense and exciting arcade racers out there once you get the hang of it.
Another feature that makes Ridge Racer my favorite series of arcade racing games is the soundtrack, it just fits perfectly with the spirit of the game, the progressive beats from the creative mind of Shinji Hosoe (Tekken, Bushido Blade, Xenosaga) encourage the player to drive fast and risk everything when drifting through the tight and sinuous tracks, it just feels great when you are able to shave those extra seconds from your lap time.
